The Friday Dinner Meetup
by Patrick HavensI arrived a bit early after traffic annoying my well laid plans. I had planned to take the Ferry into San Francisco and so drove to Vallejo expecting to get there 15-120 minutes early. I got there only to be told that the ferry had left 5 minutes before, so I got to test my weekend route… BART.
I arrived at Taylors about half an hour early, got myself a Fat Tire and waited… not very long before Niall introduced himself. My old laptop case with WordPress stickers on it gave me away as a attendee. It didn’t take long for people to start wandering in, and before you knew it there was around 40 of us clustered around 4 or 5 tables talking a variety of topics. I heard talks wher epoeple where talking about how they came into blogging, or how they met each other. There was other talking shop about how certain beta code for WordPress had just gotten checked in, and what steps it was at. There was also talks around an iphone… debating good points and bad. Through all this people enjoyed there beers or their shakes. It was a time for me to get chukles for my Business Cards, and for me to scoop up other peoples cards. (I still need your Jeremy to complete my collection)
All in all it was a good long night… how long? I just got home a few minutes ago. I quickly popped in my camera card, and started uploading pictures, then I started writing this post. Since I have an early start this morning, I’m going to leave you with this post (I’ll edit later with links to others if I find them) and the pictures I took… minus labels.

Hey Patrick - he of the awesome business cards.
This “dinner” was loads of fun. It was great to meet everybody and relax a little. and they had awesome milkshakes. I wish you could have been at the WordPress Podcast get together earlier in the day. Some great conversation took place.
I’ll hook you up with a Jeremy card but you’ve got to get ALL U.S. b5 employees to get Bingo. So he doesn’t count (Unless you go for a Canada bingo). So you need Christina (CJ) and Gabrielle yet too for the US. THEN you get the free beer! (Or shake :P)
