WordCampED announced that their registration is now closed as the event is fully booked nearly ten days in advance.
The next WordCamp ED event is scheduled for Worcester Massachusetts as part of the Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) in February 2009. They are planning a series of WordCamp Education events around the country and beyond. Check out WordCampED for details.
Aiming to be one of the biggest WordCamp gatherings in the world, WordCamp Israel 2008 (English) reports they have 560 reigstrants for their WordPress event on November 16, 2008, at the Z.O.A. House in Tel Aviv.
This is going to be one of the most exciting WordPress events, bringing together WordPress and blogging enthusiasts, WordPress Theme designers, WordPress Plugin authors, social media and SEO experts, and powerful web tech folks in the Middle East.
They are working on getting video uploaded as soon as possible after the event, and there might be some live streaming if bandwidth allows. Unfortunately, most of the presentations will be in Hebrew. Would be nice if there was an English translation to the video.
Either way, expect the event to rock the WordPress Community.
Duane Storey and others have announced a most unique WordCamp Event, WordCamp Whistler, a skiing, photocamp, and WordPress event in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, on January 24, 2009. Winter fun with WordPress.
They are working on getting discount rates on rooms and meeting space, but this will not be a cheap WordPress event, but what a great combination. There is also a Barcamp page for WordCamp Whistler with more information.
WordCampNOLA in New Orleans has been announced and a Twitter account set up to generate interest. They are looking at scheduling the event in March 2009. If you are interested in helping out, check out their WordCampNOLA Twitter.
The first WordCampED, WordCamp for educators, is scheculed for November 22, 2008, in Washington D.C.
Among the speakers on using WordPress and web technology for educators will be Jane Wells of Automattic covering WordPress 2.7.

Recent announcements include instructions on how to get t-shirts if you register by November 7, the unconference speaker and topic sign-ups, and the next WordCamp ED event is scheduled for February, WordCamp ED: Northeast 209 in Massachusetts.
WordCamp is a 1 or 2 day conference for WordPress users and developers. The focus is on how to be a better blogger, on the development and future of WordPress, and other topics of interest.
WordCamp.Info will be there so that those who can't make it hear what's going on.
